| Many of our guests may just want to ease into the beauty and tranquility
of the island life, relaxing on the beautiful beaches with a good book
or taking long walks with steady trade winds caressing their face.
Other guests with more ambitious pursuits in mind will be very pleased
with the variety of activities at their disposal. Roatan is laced by
the second largest coral reef in the world. The reefs here are protected
all the way from Sandy Bay to the western tip of the island. The clear,
sparkling Caribbean waters and the abundant underwater life provide
for some of the most spectacular scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.
Foster's will be happy to arrange snorkel tours, fishing trips or other
excursions. Foster's son, Gerrilee Diaz, operates a fishing and tour
excursion boat. A brochure is available for those interested in pricing
and available activities. Diving packages, including resort courses
and diving certification, are readily available for those guests interested
in diving. |

Snorkeling is amazing right out front at West Bay. A short
walk down the idyllic beach toward the south end provides for even
closer reef experience. Here the reef practically meets the shore and
is an easy swim providing a panorama of brilliantly colored fish and
swaying sea fans. For those of you who do not bring your own, nearby
shops rent snorkeling gear for about $10.00 per day. There is also
good snorkeling just offshore at West End. Snorkeling excursions by
boat can be arranged through Foster's for around $25.00 per hour per
person without gear and $30.00 per person including gear-minimum, 2
hour/2 person minimum. |
